Who looks after your data
The data controller is the operator of Yogaforgeeks. Email: [email protected]. The contact form works too.
What we gather
Only playing? We don’t ask who you are and we build no profile of you. The site carries no advertising or analytics trackers.
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You sign up with email | Your first and last name, screen name, email address, date of birth, a password (stored only as a one-way hash), the sign-up date, your last log-in, any failed log-in count and lock time, and when you agreed to the Terms and Privacy Policy. | To run your account, confirm you’re 18+ and keep it secure. |
| You log in with Google | Your name, verified email address and Google account ID, as returned by Google and checked by our server. We then ask for a screen name and your date of birth. | To log you in and confirm you’re 18+. |
| You write to us | Your name, email address, the topic and your message. | To read it and reply. |
| You request a password reset | Your email address and a one-time reset code (kept as a hash, valid for an hour). | So you can choose a new password. |
| You log in or send any form | A short-lived counter tied to a one-way hash of your IP address. | To curb spam and password guessing. Counters expire by themselves. |
We never ask for or store card or bank details, and we don’t use your data for advertising or profiling.
Where it is kept
- Accounts sit on our web server as protected files that can’t be opened from the web. There is no separate database. They remain until you delete your account or ask us to remove it.
- Messages sent through our forms are emailed by our server, using an email delivery service (SMTP), to our support inbox. We also keep a protected delivery log holding only the date, the outcome, which form was used and any technical error. It contains no names, email addresses or message text.
- In your browser we save your age answer, your cookie-notice choice and the time your visit began (for the clock), plus a log-in cookie when you log in or use a form. See the Cookie Policy.
- Our hosting provider may keep routine technical logs (such as IP address and the page requested) for security and operations.
Who else is involved
- Email delivery service. Carries the messages from our forms and the password-reset emails.
- Google Sign-In. Only when it is active and you choose it. Loading the Google button on the log-in and sign-up pages connects your browser to Google, and Google’s privacy policy then applies.
- The games. Games load in our pages from files hosted on yogaforgeeks.com and may use your browser’s storage to run. They send us no payment or identity details.
- Hosting provider. Stores and serves the site.
We never sell personal data.
Why we use it
- To provide and secure your account.
- To check you are 18 or over, since the site is for adults.
- To answer your messages and requests.
- To stop the site and its forms being abused.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may be able to see, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict how it’s used, get a copy of it, or complain to a data protection authority. You can delete your account yourself at any time on the account page, which removes it from our server. For anything else, use the contact form.
Children
The site is for adults aged 18 and over, not for children. If you think a child has given us information, please tell us and we’ll delete it.
Updates
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
